Our Story
Meet Christina and Carmine
The Native Rose was born from a dream that refused to stay on paper. I'm Christina- a former high school guidance counselor with a lifelong love of flowers who always joked that one day I'd become a flower farmer and own a flower truck. Living on Staten Island, a sprawling flower farm isn't exactly in the cards, but that hasn't stopped me from filling my backyard with blooms and growing as many flowers as I possibly can. When I'm not tending to my garden, you'll usually find me designing floral arrangements or working toward my Floral Design certification, constantly learning new ways to create beautiful, meaningful florals.
My husband, Carmine, is the practical one. He works in finance, but from the very beginning he's been the person helping turn my "crazy ideas" into reality. Long before spreadsheets and budgets, he worked in a café at Stony Brook University where we first met, so bringing specialty coffee to The Native Rose felt like the perfect full-circle moment. While I spend my time creating bouquets and styling our flower bar, Carmine is behind the espresso machine crafting drinks with the same care and attention.
Together with our four children, we've built The Native Rose to be more than just a business- it's a family adventure. Whether we're celebrating a wedding, surprising teachers, partnering with local businesses, or popping up at community events, our goal is simple: to create beautiful moments, one bouquet and one cup of coffee at a time. We can't wait to meet you and share a little piece of our story with yours.
